deleteEffects()v4.0.528

Deletes selected effects from one or more nodes.

warning

Draft API: This API is experimental and may change.

delete-effects.ts
import {deleteEffects, type CodemodProject, type EffectReference} from '@remotion/codemods'; declare const project: CodemodProject; declare const effect: EffectReference; const result = await deleteEffects({ project, effects: [effect], }); console.log(result);

Indices of later effects shift after deletion. Read effects again with getNodeProps() before using old effect indices. Imports are preserved.

The effects attribute must contain an inline array. An attribute followed by a JSX spread is rejected because the spread may override it.

Options

project

An in-memory CodemodProject. The input project is not mutated.

effects

A non-empty array of effect references to remove. References may span files and nodes; indices refer to the input project. Duplicate references are deduplicated.

Set effectIndex: null to remove the entire effects attribute from a node, including spread entries in its inline array. The node must have at least one effect. Selecting every effect individually also removes the attribute when its array becomes empty.

delete-all-effects.ts
const result = await deleteEffects({ project, effects: [{...node, effectIndex: null}], });

Return value

A promise resolving to an object with the following properties.

changes

An array of {filePath, previousContents, nextContents} file changes. A null content value indicates a created or deleted file.

nodePathRemappings

An array of {filePath, oldNodePath, newNodePath} mappings. A null old path indicates an insertion; a null new path indicates removal. Apply these mappings to references from the input project. See node references.

editDetails

An array with one entry per edited file.

filePath

The file's path in the project.

effectLabels

Display labels for the removed effects, such as 'blur()'. Unsupported entries removed by effectIndex: null use 'effect'.

logLines

One-based source lines for the removed effects, in the same order as effectLabels.

formatted

Whether the generated edit was formatted.

Errors

Throws or rejects when the target cannot be resolved, the requested edit is unsupported, or an option is invalid. Failed edits leave the input project unchanged.
